Donations and Sponsorship
The Friends is a not-for-profit organisation, of nearly 2000 members, providing support to the Gold Coast Arts Centre, and to individuals seeking to pursue a career in the Arts. We are major sponsor of the Summer School having donated $100,000 over the last 10 years, and also scholarships to a number of local young people.
In addition to supporting the Summer School, the Friends is a major contributor to the Arts Centre. Since its inception, we have purchased many items including pianos, furniture storage boxes for ceramics, computers, and special lighting. We have commissioned a sculpture for the sculpture walk, supported artists by providing prizes for competitions in painting, sculpture and ceramics as well as purchasing wigs and costumes for the Centre.
The Friends has supported thespians
and musicians by showcasing their talents in various parts of the Centre.
