Friends of the Gold Coast Arts Centre
The Friends is a not-for-profit organisation, of nearly 2000 members, providing support to the Gold Coast Arts Centre, and to individuals seeking to pursue a career in the Arts.
We are a major sponsor of the Summer School having donated $100,000 over the last 10 years, and also scholarships to a number of local young people. We have regular social activities for members who also enjoy discounts at the Arts Centre.
By becoming a member of the Friends you can help us to continue our work in promoting the arts on the Gold Coast.
Evandale Update
Gold Coast Mayor Ron Clarke today (23 Jan 01) came out strongly in support of the proposed creation of a cultural centre "worthy of the Gold Coast". (GC Bulletin, page 5, 23 January 2010). This was in response to claims that the winning entry of the ideas competition had been accepted as the final design. This is not the case. The Mayor's full statement can be seen here: Click here
